This club reminds me of something from the 1970s disco era with its gold color and flashy appearance. It took a bit of work to find the sweet spot, but once I found it, I hit the ball almost exactly the same every time.
There was a real firmness to this club that permeated throughout the entire swing and upon the ball landing. I could get the shorter irons up really, really high, but the longer irons seemed stuck in mid-flight. There's distance there if you want to go back and get it, but I had to fight the club too much to get it do everything I wanted.
It really walks a thin line between super game improvement and game improvement. Definitely a slimmer profile, and played that way as well. Good turf interaction and crisp feel on impact. Distance was plentiful, but it did not do much to eliminate side spin on mis-hits.
It is exceptionally lightweight, so it feels very fast through the impact zone. Quiet at impact. There isn't a ton of feedback across the face, good or bad. Left to right dispersion was fairly narrow, but it did not provide the easy launch that you need in a category like this.
These are very flashy clubs, but I had trouble being consistent with them. It was hard to find the center of the face. When I did, it was filled with vibration and negative feedback. They had a lower ball flight than I would have liked, too.
The gold plating and overall look is a little over-the-top. Despite the try-hard appearance, the club performs terrifically. I found it produced a consistent, straight ball flight. It's a little low for this category, but extremely playable.
Truly transcends the super game-improvement category. The feel is superlative. Very crisp impact results in a powerful ball flight. The balance is ideal and really rises above others that I've hit in this category.
This club feels like a sleeper. It has a thinner profile, but it's pretty easy to use. I found it a little sluggish through the ground, but it launches the ball high and long. The longer irons were electric off the face.
I tended to pull a lot of shots left with these clubs. Numbers-wise, center hits and mis-hits had the same carry, but got there in very different ways. Lower ball flight in general.
I absolutely love the gold accents. I also like how the shaft blends in with the gold accents on the head. It has the tiniest bit of offset, which really helped my swing. My good swings were rewarded with five to 10 yards of extra distance. My bad swings were still dead on line and maybe a yard or two short. The feel was superb. Very satisfying on impact.
It looks very regal and gaudy, and as soon as you make contact, all that shine is validated. It is ferocious off the face. This one might finish on the podium.
I get a lot of distance from these clubs. Even my dispersion is really tight. There's a deep smack sound at impact, and the ball pops off the face very quickly. It's soft at impact on the hands, but feels stable.
